A Look AT CSU
CSU enters the contest with a 3-1 start after shutting out Savannah State 3-0 on Tuesday. Prior to that the Buccaneers posted one of the best opening weekends in program history. CSU went 2-1 in Cullowhee, N.C. at Western Carolina's Catamount Classic. The Bucs topped Middle Tennessee State and Robert Morris in straight sets to put CSU off to its best start since the 2003 season.
Meanwhile, South Carolina State opened 2018 this past weekend in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge held in Atlanta. The Bulldogs went 0-3 over the weekend with losses to Jacksonville, Alabama A&M, and Alabama State. Second-year head coach
Monique Lee leads a blended roster that features one senior, four juniors, two sophomores and a trio of freshmen.
Alexus Holt leads the team with 3.00 kills per set and 2.30 digs per set over the first weekend.
Up Next: South Carolina State hits the road to take on College of Charleston Tuesday (Sept. 4
