BALTIMORE, MD—The South Carolina State basketball teams return to action this Saturday (Jan.26
th) in a key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader, on the road at host Coppin State in the Physical Education Complex. Tip-off for the women is 2 p.m., with the men beginning in a 4 p.m. start.
Both teams look to remain in the mix of the conference race this weekend. The Lady Bulldogs (7-11 overall, 2-4 MEAC) got off to a slow start in conference play, but turned thing around last week knocking off the defending MEAC Champion the Lady Pirates of Hampton ,78-70 ,in Orangeburg.

Bryeasha Blair led the way with a game-high 28 points in the win.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (7-14, overall 3-3 MEAC) after suffering a tough, 91-84, setback to Hampton on Saturday (Jan. 21
st) still find themselves in the thick of things currently ranked 5
th in league standings.
Senior guard Patrell Rogers led the Bulldogs with a team-high 19 points in the loss.
Coppin State enters the contest in a three-way tie for fourth place on the women's side. The Lady Eagles (4-14 overall, 3-3 MEAC) knocked off cross town rival Morgan State, 55-53, in their last outing.
Chance Graham led Coppin State with a double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds over Morgan State.
On the men's side, the Eagles (2-19 overall, 2-4) under the direction of first-year head coach Juan Dixon, the former University of Maryland All-American standout pulled out an upset over Morgan State 80-73 in overtime.
Lamar Morgan led the way with 24 points for the Eagles.
The Bulldogs are led in scoring by graduated guard Donte Wright with 13.6 ppg, while sophomore
Damani Applewhite is on pace to have an All-MEAC season as the leader in the front court with 11.9 points and 6.8 rebounds.
On the women's side, Blair leads the way for the Lady Bulldogs at 14.3 ppg, while teammate and JUCO transfer Kyesha Lewis is second on the team at 10.5 points. Junior forward Jasmine Williams gives SC State that extra push in the frontcourt grabbing 6.7 rebounds and tossing in 5.3 ppg.
Coppin State has three players averaging a little over 10.2 per contest in, Lamar Morgan, Karon Davis and Dejuan Clayton. Adam Traore is the leader on the boards with 6.8 points and 6.0 rebound per game.
Genesis Lucas gives the Lady Eagles that scoring threat at 18.6 points per outing. Chance Graham is second behind Lucas at 11.4 points and 9.4 rebounds.
