ORANGEBURG, SC---The South Carolina State women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play with a 7-0 win over visiting North Carolina Central Wednesday (Mar. 15) at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.

The Lady Bulldogs, who are the defending MEAC champions, improved to 2-6 overall, 2-0 in the MEAC, while NCCU drops to 1-10 overall, 1-1 in the league.
South Carolina State got on the board early winning the doubles point 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3.

Meanwhile in singles action, Intissar Rassif def. Jamie Rogers (6-2, 6-4) at the No. 1 spot; Oleksandra Filippova def. Jasmine Gabriel (6-2, 7-5) at the No. 2 spot; Andjela Vasic def. Lynsey Cover (0-6, 6-1, 6-3) at the No. 3 spot; Marketa Marcanikova def. Tamara Jeremic (6-1,6-0) at the No. 4 spot; Claudia Roca def. Emily Pena (2-6, 6-4, 10-6) at the No. 5 spot and Andjela Mihajlovic def. Lauren Mullis 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.

South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (Mar. 17) when they host visiting Charlotte at the Hardee Judge Tennis Center. First serve is 1 p.m.
