ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's tennis team dropped a tough, 6-1, defeat to Coastal Carolina Monday (Feb.28) afternoon at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.

The match, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was moved up a day due to the threat of rain.

SC State's (1-4) lone point was provided by Marketa Marcanikova, who topped Tiefel at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action on next Thursday (Mar.9) when they host East Carolina in a non-conference matchup. First serve is 1 p.m.
