NORFOLK, VA—The South Carolina State women's team avenged an early season loss in a 4-1 win over defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Champion Bethune-Cookman Friday (April.22) in the semifinals at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

South Carolina State (7-10) will face Florida A&M Saturday (April.23) for the Women's MEAC Tennis Championship in a 9 a.m. showdown. The Lady Bulldogs return to the finals for the 12^th consecutive year, winning 10-straight league titles before falling to Bethune-Cookman last season.

SC State claimed the doubles point Rassif/Brown def. Matsuba/Roki (6-1) at the No.1 spot and Vasic/Marcanikova def. Hanton/Romero (6-2) at the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, the Lady Bulldogs dominated with Intissar Rassif def. Mina Matsuba 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot; Andjela Vasic Def. Anica Ifill 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot; Dakota Brown def. Karen Romero 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot to claim the victory.
