ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs defeated Binghamton University 5-2 in a non-conference matchup Thursday (March.31) morning at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.

South Carolina State improves to 4-9 overall, 3-0 in the MEAC, while Binghamton falls to 7-10 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs took the doubles point, winning at the No.2 (6-4) and No. 3 (6-2).

In singles action, it was Intissar Rassif def. Sara Kohtz (4-6, 6-2, 10-4) at the No. 1 spot; Marketa Marcanikova def. Agatha Ambrozy (6-3, 6-1) at the No. 4 spot; Dakota Brown def. Olga Ostrovetsky (6-3, 7-5) at the No. 5 spot and Carla Petreanu def. Paulina Tafer 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.

South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday when they host top-ranked Bethune-Cookman for the conference lead in the Southern Division. First serve begins at 10 a.m.
