TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The South Carolina State women's tennis captured its third-straight MEAC win after an, 4-3, victory over Florida A&M Saturday (March.26) at the FSU Indoor Tennis Complex.
The match originally scheduled for 10 a.m. was delayed to a 4 p.m. start and moved to the FSU Indoor Tennis Complex, due to the inclement of bad weather.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-9 overall, 3-0 in the MEAC and moved into a tie for first place in the Southern Division with Bethune-Cookman.
FAMU jumped out early winning the doubles point at the No. 1 (6-2) and No 2 (6-4) spots.
In singles action,
Intissar Rassif def. A. Dean (6-2, 6-2) at the No.1 spot;
Andjela Vasic def. O. Rolle (6-3, 6-0) at the No. 3 spot;
Marketa Marcanikova def. D. Henry (6-3,6-2) at the No. 4 spot and
Carla Petreanu def. E. Clayton (6-0, 6-3) at the No. 6 spot.
Next up South Carolina State returns to action on Thursday (March. 31) when they host Binghamton University in a non-conference matchup at the
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center. First serve begins at 10 a.m.
