DURHAM, NC—The South Carolina State women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play with a, 5-2, victory over NC Central Wednesday at the NCCU Tennis Courts.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-9 Overall, 2-0 Conf.), who have won 10 of the last 11 MEAC Tournament titles, remained undefeated in the league, while the Lady Eagles (3-9, 2-3) were unable to complete a perfect MEAC home slate (2-1) with the loss.

SC State scored early on with a 6-4 win at second and 6-1 third doubles match victory.

In singles action, Intissar Rassif def. Aissa Muamba (7-6, 7-5, 6-4) at the No.1 spot; Andjela def. Jasmine Gabriel (2-6, 7-5, 2-0) at the No. 4 spot and Dakota Brown def. Lynsey Cover 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot.

Next up South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (March. 26) against league rival Florida A&M in a pivotal MEAC showdown. First serve begins at 10 a.m.
