ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis team captured their third straight victory after an, 5-2, victory over Monmouth Thursday (March.17) at the
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs (4-4) dropped the doubles points and had to rely on five straight single points to earn the win.
In singles action
Jakub Vitek def. Alec Gomez (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) at the No. 2 spot;
Vladyslav Yanchenko def. Christian Vieria (6-2,6-4) at the No.3 spot;
Cyprian Owczarz def. Alberto Giuffrida (7-6, 6-4) at the No. 4 spot;
Aleksander Stupar def. Richard Chen (6-0, 6-3) at the No. 5 spot and Edgar Daiz def. Joe Talafous (6-0,6-0) at the No. 6 spot.
South Carolina State will return to action on Saturday (March. 19) on the road against Kennesaw in a 1 p.m. start, then Sunday (March. 20) versus ACC foe Wake Forest in a 5 p.m. showdown in Winston-Salem, NC.
