ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State head basketball coaches
Murray Garvin and
Doug Robertson, Jr., in conjunction with the Furman University basketball staff, will hold a College Basketball Symposium this Saturday, September 20, on the campus of SC State.
The symposium features two sessions. The morning session is open to high school, recreation and AAU coaches and will cover on-the-court coaching skills. This session will take place in Dukes Gymnasium from 10 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be provided following this session.
The afternoon session, which starts at 1:15 p.m. in Staley Hall, will cover NCAA eligibility rules and the recruiting process. It is open to anyone who advises high school athletes academically and athletically (i.e., parents, guidance counselors, high school/junior college coaches, administrators). The cost to attend both sessions is $25 for coaches and adults and $10 for high school athletes.
Symposium attendees will receive
FREE admission to the SC State vs. Furman football game at 6 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.

Credentials will be available for pickup at the Crawford-Zimmerman Building beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Attendees are encouraged to enter campus through Gate 2 or 3 for direct access to the Crawford-Zimmerman Building.
