Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to The Citadel on Friday afternoon in the Charleston Southern Tournament at WLI Field.
Mady Riegel scored the first goal of the game at the 20:18 mark to give The Citadel (2-1) a 1-0 lead. But freshman forward
Naydeen Cabalo scored 16 seconds later to tie the game at 1-all.
The Citadel regained the lead when Karina Schneider scored on an assist from Vanessa Aponte at the 37:48 mark.
Another goal early in the second half kept The Citadel head 3-1 until Cabalo scored an unassisted goal with 1:55 left in the game. But the Lady Bulldogs (1-2) could not manage another goal before time expired.
Senior midfielder
Dominique Brown took four shots, three on goal, while Cabalo took two shots, both on goal, and scored twice. Goalkeeper
Katelyn Kern had a game-high-tying four saves.
