ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The SC State women's soccer opens the regular season this Sunday against Alabama State at 1 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
 
The Lady Bulldogs return nine players from last year's team that went 6-11-1. Six new student-athletes join the team this year for head coach Sandra Burris' second season at the helm.
 
In the meeting between the teams last season, Alabama State defeated SC State 5-0 in Montgomery, Ala.
