PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – South Carolina State junior 
Cheryl Chua carded an even-par 72 on Friday to take the first-round lead in the Women's Individual Invitational at the 28th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship at the PGA Golf Club.Chua, one of three Lady Bulldogs in the 54-hole event being played on the PGA Ryder Course, was two shots clear of Utah Valley's Kalea Heu, who had a 74 after 18 holes.
SC State senior 
Tiana Jones had a seven-over par 79 to tie for fifth after 18 holes, while 
Cherie Chua, the twin sister of 
Cheryl Chua, carded an opening round 87 and was in 15th place.
In the team competition, Chicago State led the Division I Women's Division with an 18-hole total 21-over par 309, while Bethune-Cookman's men had a 10-over par 298 to lead the men's Div. I play.
The second round gets underway Saturday morning with the final round set for Sunday.
