STONE MOUNTAIN, GA -- The SC State women's golf team will be trying to win its second consecutive WIG title this weekend when the Lady Bulldogs join eight other teams in the 20th annual Women's Collegiate Golf Classic to be played Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 26-27) at the Stone Mountain Golf Course.
The 36-hole collegiate competition, set for 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday, will feature business professionals in a Business/Collegiate Scramble with one collegiate player in each foursome on Friday.
The individual winner of the 36-hole collegiate event, sponsored by the Women in Golf Foundation, will receive the coveted Renee Powell Cup. SC State senior
Tiana Jones won last year's individual event in which the Lady Bulldogs captured first place with a 36-hole team total of (344-327) 671. The Alliance, OH senior had a two-day total of (79-79) of 158 to take top honors.
Scheduled to join the Lady Bulldogs in the field are Alabama State, Alcorn State, Benedict, Bethune-Cookman, Delaware State, Hampton, Prairie View, Savannah State, Spelman and Texas Southern.
