Box Score ORANGEBURG, SC—Sophomore guard
Greg Mortimer tossed in a game-high 17 points to lead the South Carolina State Bulldogs to a, 92-55, victory over Columbia International Tuesday (Nov. 25) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The Bulldogs earned their first win of the season in the home-opener to improve to 1-3 overall, while the Rams fall to 1-8 on the season. Junior forward
Darryl Palmer recorded the games only double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Gerdarius Troutman each finished with 14, while teammate
Karon Wright chipped in 11 in the win.
"It was great team effort and our guys was excited to play at home and I thought we had a tremendous turnout for the game with it taking place during Thanksgiving Holiday, " said Bulldog head coach
Murray Garvin. " Anytime you have five guys in double-figures with 18 assists means you played pretty well on the offensive end. "
Despite the costly turnovers (13), the Bulldogs dominated the boards on the night, out-rebounding the Rams 48-28, while shooting 61.3% (19-of-31) from the charity stripe and 50.8% (33-of-65) from the field.
South Carolina State jumped out to their biggest lead of the night 39, 86-47 off a driving layup by Mortimer with 4:16 remaining regulation. A layup by Stephens along with a jumper by junior college transfer
Gabe McCray put the Bulldogs up 90-52 with less than a 1:35 to play.
McCray finished with six points and seven rebounds, while freshman forward and Orangeburg native
Tashombe Riley added six points and five rebounds in his home debut.
South Carolina State will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Statesboro, GA to battle Georgia Southern in a non-conference matchup at Hanner Fieldhouse. Tipoff is 2:30 p.m.
