CHARLESTON, SC-- The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs women's tennis team open the 2013 season with a tough 6-1 defeat to the Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern Saturday at the CSU Tennis Complex.
The Lady Buccaneers jumped out early claiming the doubles point with Ali Nour/Angelica def. Maria Craciun/Klara Dohnalova (8-5), and Alexandra Waters/Chanel Bell def. Victoriia Khatcei/Laura Bosneag 8-3.
In single actions the only victory for South Carolina State came from senior Laura Bosneag defeating Susita Das, 6-4, 7-5.
South Carolina State falls to 0-1 on the season, while Charleston Southern improves to 1-0. The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, February 9., when they travel to Norfolk, VA to take on Norfolk State.
