SC State Women’s Volleyball Team Remains on the Road

Jr., Alyse Lewis has 10 total blocks thus far inthe season including six solos.

Orangeburg, S.C. – The SC State University women's volleyball team will remain on the road for the second straight weekend as they travel to Beaumont, Texas to participate in the Lamar Invitational.

SC State will open the tournament, which is scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Aug. 31-Sept 1, with Texas State on Friday at 2 p.m. (EST) The Lady Bulldogs will take on host Lamar at 1:30 p.m. (EST) on Saturday before closing its tournament play against Louisiana Tech at 4 p.m. (EST) on Saturday. All three matches can be followed via live stats at the appropriate link below.

The Lady Bulldogs enters the tournament with a 1-2 record. Senior Paige Webb and sophomore newcomer Maya Bell are leading the team in kills with 31 and 27 respectively. Defensively Webb has 35 total digs and junior Alyse Lewis has 10 total blocks including six solos. As a team, SC State is averaging nine kills and 12.5 digs per set.
