Craciun Lead Lady Bulldogs Tennis Team Over Stetson

ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's (4-0) tennis team remain undefeated on the season with an impressive 5-2 victory over Stetson University Friday at SCSU Tennis Courts.
       The Lady Bulldogs claimed the doubles point early on with Akliah James/Maria Craciun defeating Lazarevich/Stuffer-Mc Dowell (8-1) and Suhaila Jad/Sabrina Mendez winning over Cable/Gunning 8-4.
         Leading the way in singles action on the day was at the No.3 spot junior Maria Craciun def. Maya Stuffer-McDowell (6-1, 6-1); at No. 1 spot senior Suhaila Jad def. Sara Lazarevich (6-0, 1-6, and 6-1).
        Others posting victories were sophomore Akliah James defeating Shannon Gunning (6-3, 7-5) and senior Sabrina Mendez at the No. 4 spot defeating Diana Bukajeva winning 6-3, 7-5.
         SC State will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Statesboro, Ga to take on Georgia Southern in a 10 a.m. showdown.
