SC State Women’s Volleyball Fell to UNC-Greensboro in a Non-Conference Contest

Box Score Greensboro, N.C.—The SC State women's volleyball team fell to UNC-Greensboro, 3-0, (14-25, 18-25, 21-25), in a non-conference matchup.  With the lost the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 5-9 overall.

SC State, who hit a just .156 for the game, had just one player to record in double-digit kills as junior Desire Waller recorded 10 in the match.  E. Paige Webb recorded six kills and Erica Pritchett and Taylor Bailey each recorded five kills in contest.  Webb also picked up a game-high 13 digs while freshman Melanie Williams put up 24 set assists in the loss.

UNC-Greensboro was paced by Karrian Chambers and Vickey Harley who recorded 11 and 10 kills, respectively.  Emily McMurtrey had 38 set assists and Olivia Humphries picked up 10 digs for the Spartans who hit a .340 for the game.

SC State will resume Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play this weekend, Friday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 14, when they host North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central, respectively.  Friday's contest is set for a 6 p.m. first serve while first serve for Sunday's matchup is set for 3 p.m.
