SC State Women’s Soccer Heads to Winthrop

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 21) when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on the Eagles of Winthrop University. This match will be the Lady Bulldogs second-of-three straight road games.

SC State enters Wednesday's match with a 1-4-2 overall record after falling to UNC Asheville (UNC-A), 1-5, on last Sunday. Stephanie Searle scored SC State lone goal against UNC-A. Kaitlynn Cortez currently leads the team in points with 3 (1 goal-1 assist).

Winthrop enters tomorrow match with a 3-4-0 overall record. In their last outing, the Eagles defeated East Tennessee State, 2-1, in double-overtime. Courtney Durbin and Ariel Kunde currently leads the team in points with six and five, respectively.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Longwood this Sunday (Sept. 25) before returning home next Saturday (Oct. 1) when they host the University of North Dakota in its 2011 Great West Conference (GWC) opener.
