Box Score Itta Bena, Miss.—SC State outshot Mississippi Valley State, 28-5, but could not find the back of the net as the teams ended the game in a 0-0 tie in a non-conference matchup on Friday (Aug. 26).
SC State (0-1-1) displayed a lot of hustle and effort throughout the match but could not capitalize on its many opportunities. “I can't fault the effort and dedication of our team as we completely dominated the match,” said head coach Glad Bugariu. “Unfortunately, the one thing that matters at the end of the game is the score and that's the one thing we could not do.”

Stephanie Searle led the team in shots with six and five respectively.
Danielle Murphy displayed outstanding defense as she had five saves on five shots-on-goal.
The Lady Bulldogs will look to get to winning ways as they travel to Montgomery, Ala. this Sunday (Aug. 28) to take on the Lady Hornets of Alabama State. SC State will open its 2011 home-season on Friday, Sept. 2 when they host Georgia Southern. First kick is set for 7 p.m. at the Oliver C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium on the campus of SC State.
