Oklahoma Wins Easily Over SC State 83-48

Bulldogs dropped sixth-straight game

Barber led the Bulldogs with a game-high 12 points.
Box Score NORMAN, OK—The Oklahoma Sooners had no problem handing SC State their sixth-straight loss, after posting an 83-48 runaway victory Wednesday at Lloyd Noble Center.
      The Bulldogs fall to 4-8 on the season, while the Sooners improve to 9-1.
       SC State was led in scoring by redshirt-sophomore Shaquil Barber with a team-high 12 points, while Oklahoma had three players in double figures with Steven Pledger leading the way with 22 points,  Andrew Fitzgerald was second with 17, and Romero Osby recorded the team only double-double with 10 points, and 18 rebounds.
         Oklahoma jumped out to a quick 10-point lead 15-5 off a jumper by Andrew Fitzgerald at the 11:31 mark in the first half. Osby nailed a jumper nailed a jumper to extend the Sooners lead to 13, 31-18 with 3:30 left in the half.  Steven Pledger driving layup with 0:01 seconds left closed out the half with Oklahoma leading 39-24.
         Pledger gave the Sooners a 27 point advantage, 65-38 off a 3-pointer with 8:09 left in the contest. Oklahoma held on to cruise to an 83-48 victory. The Sooners totally dominated the boards out-rebounding the Bulldogs 63-36 in the game.
         C.J. Washington also added 12 rebounds and 5 points off the bench for Oklahoma.
         SC State will return to action on Dec. 29, when they travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on the University of Hawaii in a non-conference matchup. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
