SC State Host Georgia St. In Non-Conference Showdown

ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will be in search of its fifth win of the season when they face a talented Georgia St. Panther team Tuesday.
       Coach Tim Carter who enters his fifth season at the helm for the Bulldogs is currently 62-72 at SC State, 222-224 career. SC State posted a huge 104-98 2OT victory over Kennesaw State Saturday, while the Panthers defeated Liberty 72-50.
         Georgia State (3-3) enters the contest on a three-game winning streak with wins over McNeese State (69-50), Samford (55-47) and Liberty. The Panthers are led in scoring by sophomore guard Devonta White with 13 ppg, while senior guard Jihad Ali is second with 12.3 ppg and 6.2 rpg.  Senior Josh Micheaux leads the team in rebounding with 7.8 per contest and is averaging a little over 9.5 points per outing.
          SC State (4-2)is led by junior guard Khalif Toombs with 12.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg, while senior forward Presano Bell leads the team in rebounding with 6.2 rebounds and 9.2 points per game.
           The Bulldogs will hit the road for a two-game swing Friday against Longwood University in a 7:00 tipoff and then Monday  SC State will open conference play at Norfolk State. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
