Box Score
Orangeburg, S.C.—SC State had two goals off 19 shots and North Dakota had two goals off 12 as the teams played to a 2-2 tie in a Great West Conference (GWC) matchup at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium on the campus of SC State.  This was the 2011 conference opener for the Lady Bulldogs.

North Dakota (4-5-3, 1-0-1 GWC) got on the scoreboard first as Rhaya Ballon scored off a free kick due to a handball by SC State in the fifth minute.  It took SC State (1-6-3, 0-0-1 GWC) just 16 minutes to tie the game as Stephanie Searle scored off an assist by Breia Pierce that rebounded off the Sioux goalkeeper.

The Fighting Sioux would jump ahead once again as Rachel Loomis scored off an assist by Amanda Dahl in the 57th minute to give North Dakota the 2-1 advantage midway through the second half.  After withstanding some solid defense by the Fighting Sioux, Olivia Moore scored off a corner kick from Kaitlynn Cortez to tie the game in the 80th minute.  Neither team would score in the last 10 minutes of regulation, forcing overtime.

SC State had three shots in the first overtime and North Dakota had one shot in the second overtime, but neither team could capitalize as the teams ended the game in a 2-2 tie.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to action next Thursday, Oct. 13 when they host Delaware State in a Great West Conference matchup.  SC State will then host NJIT in Rock Hill, S.C. in its third conference matchup of the season.
