SC State Women’s Basketball Returns To Action Monday

Orangeburg, SC—The SC State women's basketball team returns to action, Monday, Dec. 14 at 11:30 a.m. when they travel to Clinton, SC to take on the Blue Hose of Presbyterian College. This will be the Lady Bulldogs first game in eight days.
 
The Lady Bulldogs enters Monday's game with a 4-3 overall record after defeating Winston-Salem State, 66-55, last Saturday (Dec. 5). Senior Sophilia Hipps continues to lead SC State in scoring, averaging 18.7 points per contest. The Lady Bulldogs has two players averaging double-figures as junior transfer Joi Walker is dropping in 11.6 points per contest. Paris Alston is having a good freshman campaign thus far as she is averaging 9.1 points and leading the team in rebounding at 7.1 boards per game.
 
SC State will travel to Jacksonville, FL, Thursday-Friday, Dec. 17-18, to participate in the North Florida Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will open the tournament with host North Florida on Thursday at 5 p.m. and will play face Jacksonville State on Friday at 2 p.m. SC State will close out the 2009 calendar year in Durham, NC on December 30 when they face North Carolina Central University.
 
The Lady Bulldogs will open the 2010 New Year on January 4 at Savannah State. The team will open its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, January 9 when they travel to Princess Anne, MD to face the Lady Hawks of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
