Lamin Drammeh was one of the most decorated track and field performers during his SC State career (1997-2000)...He earned numerous conference and national awards and recognitions as a jumper and runner...Was the MEAC long jumper champion five times and was the Outstanding Performer at the MEAC Championship three times...Was the recipient of the SC State Robert “Jet” Johnson Award three times...Also earned NCAA All-American honors and was ranked in the Top 20 nationally three years...Holds the school record  in the long jump outdoors (7.87m) and was formerly the school record-holder in the event indoors (7.69m)...Also participated in the triple jump and was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that won the MEAC Championship and the 4x400 meter relay team that finished third at the Penn Relays (3:09.76) and later established a school record (3:05.04...Gained international notoriety by representing his country (Gambia, West Africa) in the Olympics in 1996 at Atlanta and in 2000 at Sydney, Australia...Also participated in the Mexico Grand Prix (1999), the African National Championship in Algiers (2000) where he was a finalist in the long jump, the World Championship in Seville (2007) and the World Indoor Championship Qualifying Round in Barcelona in 2005...Following graduation, he worked with the SC State track and field program as a graduate assistant...He remains at the university as Administrator of an International Education Program and is a trained economic development and international development specialist.
