Melissa Robinson

Melissa Robinson begins her first season as the assistant volleyball coach with the SC State Lady Bulldogs.  Robinson is no stranger to the women’s volleyball program, having served as the graduate assistant last season.

Robinson had a successful three year career as a member of the Lady Bulldogs, 2009-2012.  In addition to helping guide her team to the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball title, she finished second all-time in digs with 996 and fourth all-time in service aces with 146 over the course of her career.  During her senior season (2011) she set the school record for most digs in a season with 449.  Also in that season she finished ranked 6th nationally in aces per set.

While a student-athlete, Robinson was a member of the South Carolina American Alliance for health, physical education, recreation and dance and the Student-Athlete Advisory committee.

Upon graduation, Robinson served as the head coach and recruiting coordinator for two years (2011 & 2012) of the 15 and 16 year age group of the OLC Volleyball Club in Orangeburg, S.C.  In 2012 her 16 year age group finished fifth (5th) in the club division in the state of South Carolina.

The Tallahassee, Fla. native received her Bachelor of Science in health and physical education-sport communication in May 2012.
