Toni Cowan

Cowan came to South Carolina State with a decade of coaching experience, which includes serving as the coach for Jamaica’s U15, U17, and Senior Women’s ams respectively.
 
In addition, she has coached at the high school and collegiate levels and has experience coaching men at the senior club level in Jamaica with Cavalier Soccer Club and the NSL with InterFlordia FC.
 
Cowan is the holder of a UEFA “B” License from the Scottish Football Association as well as an International Coaching Diploma from The University of Physical Education, Budapest, Hungary.
 
During her prep years in Jamaica for Ardenne High School she on the Jamaica U-20 National Team that participated in the CONCACAF World Cup pre-qualifying rounds in the Dominican Republic and Trinidad & Tobago.
 
Prior to earning a roster spot on the U-20 team, she was a member of the U-17 National Team that also took part in the World Cup pre-qualifying rounds and played club soccer with Meadhaven United FC from 2006-2008 and was the co-captain of the Constant Spring Football Club in 2009. Cowan was a four-time Most Valuable Player at Ardenne High School, scoring a career-best 19 goals in the 2007-2008 season.
 
A former youth national representative for Jamaica at the Under 17 and 20 levels, the Kingston, Jamaica native earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Loyola University in 2013.
