Nakeya L. Hall is entering her fourh season as the assistant softball coach for the SC State Lady Bulldogs. Hall comes to State after serving two seasons as an assistant coach with fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Winston-Salem State, who is completing its provisional admittance into the conference.
Hall, who is no stranger to State and the Orangeburg area, brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the game to the Lady Bulldogs program. From 1999-2003 she was a four-year letter-winner at State. During her career she was one of the most consistent players as well as a key leader both on and off the field for the Lady Bulldogs. As a player, Hall earned numerous honors including being named the Offensive and Utility Player of the Year as well as being named to several all-tournament team selections. She also earned a MEAC Player of the Week honor during her playing days.
As a coach, Hall served as an assistant coach at neighboring Claflin University as well as Edisto High School in Cordova, SC. She also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.
After finishing her collegiate competition, Hall went on to play three years for the Supersonics, a Competitive Class-A Women's Slow Pitch Softball team based in Warner-Robins, Ga.
A native of Pittsburg, CA, Hall earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from State in 2003. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
