S.C. State draws N.C. State in First Round of NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The South Carolina State Bulldogs will face the No. 9-ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack in the first round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, as announced Monday afternoon. The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.

South Carolina State earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after capturing the 2025 MEAC Men's Tennis Championship, the program's fifth consecutive title and 20th overall.

Led by Head Coach Hardeep Judge, the Bulldogs advanced to the final after edging Morgan State, 4-3, in the semifinals. S.C. State then secured the championship with a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 2 seed North Carolina Central.

Aissa Benchakroun was named the tournament's Outstanding Performer, while Coach Judge received Outstanding Coach honors.

This marks the Bulldogs' fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, S.C. State faced Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Saturday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between the S.C. State and N.C. State men's tennis programs.

N.C. State enters the NCAA Tournament with a 20-6 record after falling to Duke in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals.
