ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State with the final three game stretch of the regular season will face their toughest task once again of the season, when they host the top-ranked Spartans of Norfolk State Saturday (March.1) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.  Tipoff is 12 noon.

THE OCCASION: South Carolina State will honor and celebrate three senior student-athletes.

THE SERIES: NSU leads the series 10-18 dating back to 2007-08 season. The Spartans have won the last 15 meetings dating back to 2015-16 season. The last time the Lady Bulldogs captured a victory was on Jan. 23, 2016, in Norfolk, VA in an 60-52 victory.

THE MATCHUP:  The Lady Bulldogs (2-25 overall, 1-10 MEAC) look to avoid a season sweep after Norfolk State posted an 37-83 win on Feb. 1^st in Norfolk, VA. NSU the top-ranked team in the league with an 24-4 overall, 11-0 record MEAC remains on top of the standings.

Two Lady Bulldogs lead the way for SC State with Shaunice Reed at 11.7 points and 2.8 rebounds, while junior guard Angie Juste-Jean is second with 10.2 points and 3.1 rebounds. The Spartans are led by a pair of All-MEAC performers in guard Diamond Johnson at 19.0 points 5.8 rebounds per outing, Kierra wheeler controls the frontcourt at 15.2 ppg and a team-high 9.0 rebounds.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State host Howard Monday night in a pivotal clashing with the Bison in a 5:30 pm inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
