SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS (2-2 overall)
  • South Carolina State enters Thursday at 2–2, opening the year with two dominant home wins before dropping matchups to Georgia and USC Upstate.
  • The Bulldogs were picked last in the MEAC Preseason Coaches Poll, beginning their first season under new head coach Cedric Baker.
  • SC State carries one of the top scoring averages in the MEAC at 82.0 points per game, shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 29.3 percent from three.
  • Mya Byrd leads the team with 14.0 points per game, while Shaunice Reed (13.0) and Iemyiah Harris (12.5) give the Bulldogs three double-digit scorers.
  • Forward Angie Juste-Jean averages 11.5 points and 8.3 rebounds, anchoring SC State's interior play.
  • The Bulldogs average 17.5 assists and rely heavily on ball movement, with four players posting at least four assists on the season.
  • Rebounding has been solid through four games, with the Bulldogs holding a +3.5 margin behind 151 total rebounds.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS (2–2 overall)
  • Portuguese guard, Ana Barretto continues to pace the Royals offensively, entering Thursday night at 12.8 points per game while leading the team in three point makes with thirteen.
  • Sophomore forward, Brenae Jones-Grant remains a steady force in the paint, producing 10.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest on 63 percent shooting. Jones-Grant has already posted two double-double performances this season.
  • Dayuna Colvin has provided crucial balance in the backcourt, averaging 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and a team leading three assists per game.
  • Graduate Hannah Hicks continues to make her presence felt defensively and on the glass, pulling down 7.3 rebounds per game, including 20 defensive boards so far.
  • Jermany Mapp has settled in as another scoring threat on the perimeter, averaging 9.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals. She delivered her best outing of the year at Winthrop, posting 17 points and knocking down four threes to keep Queens within reach late.
  • Freshman guard Breah Franks has emerged as a key contributor off the bench, particularly over the last two contests. Following solid minutes at James Madison, she produced a breakout performance at Winthrop with 12 points and seven rebounds, pushing her two game average to eight points and five boards.
  • Collectively, Queens is pulling down 43.0 rebounds per game and forcing mistakes with an active defensive group that averages nine steals per outing.
