ORANGEBURG, SC--South Carolina State's Jordan Franklin was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week the league announced.

Franklin also earned a pair of national honor as well being named the Stats Perform HBCU National Defensive Player of the Week and Boxtorow HBCU National Co-Player of the Week along with teammate Micheal Lunz, II.

Franklin was in on six tackles, including 3.5 for loss that totaled 32 yards, and he forced two turnovers in the fourth quarter as South Carolina State won 22-16 at North Carolina A&T. The Bulldogs trailed in the final quarter when Franklin sacked N.C. A&T quarterback Kevin White, forcing a fumble and recovering it at the Aggies' 9. It set up the Bulldogs for a go-ahead score, which Franklin later helped cement with an interception in his team's end zone. He also had one pass breakup in the first quarter.
