ATLANTA, GA—The South Carolina State men's tennis team captured back-to-back wins after a 4-0 shutout win over UT Chattanooga Saturday (Jan.25) at Peachtree Corners, Ga./Lifetime Fitness.
South Carolina State improves to 2-1 overall, while Chattanooga falls to 0-4 on the season.
The Bulldogs captured the doubles point early with 6-1, 6-2 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot.
In singles action,
Mikalai Bankou def. Gabriel Castillo (6-4, 6-2) at the No. 1 spot; at the No. 2 spot
Aissa Benchakroun def. Ryan Mudre (7-6, 6-2) and the No. 3 spot
Novak Novakovic (6-4, 6-4) at the No. 3 spot.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will take on Coastal Carolina at home on Friday, Jan.31 in a 1 pm start inside the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
