• This will be the ninth meeting between Georgia Southern and South Carolina in a series dating back to 1985 with the Eagles holding an 8-0 lead in the series. 
• The last time these two teams met was in 2018 in Statesboro with the Eagles taking a 37-6 win in the season opener behind 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Shai Werts.
•  A pair of Bulldogs earn MEAC Players of the Week. Freshman kicker Kyle Gallegos was named Rookie of the Week, while Nick Taiste was named Offensive Lineman of the Week.
• Junior running back Deondra Duehart rushed for 128-yards on 18 carries on the day, while senior quarterback Eric Phoenix passed for 18-of-23 for 194-yards and a touchdown.
•  Senior wide receiver Justin Brown-Smith had 5 catches for 94-yards.
