ORANGEBURG, SC– The South Carolina State University football team reported to camp on Tuesday, July 30
th and will begin practicing on Wednesday, July 31
st at 9 a.m., inside O.C. Dawson Stadium on Willie Jeffries Field.
First-year head coach Chennis Berry enters his first camp with high enthusiasm and excitement.
"It's time for the grass," Berry said. "We're super excited. It's football season. I woke up this morning so excited that I got to be the head coach at South Carolina State University.
The Bulldogs will then turn their attention to their second practice at 9 a.m. start, on Thursday (Aug 1) in helmets, followed by a Friday (Aug 2) and Saturday (Aug 3
rd) workout at 9 a.m. in shells. A Sunday (Aug. 4) evening practice at 7:30 p.m. will feature SC State in full pads for the first time in preseason camp.
Practices are free and open to the public. Visitors may enter Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium on the visitor's side and may sit in the stands to view practice. No spectators or fans are allowed on the field or sideline during practice.

South Carolina State will hold its annual "Meet Players Day", August 17
th at 12 noon at O.C. Dawson Stadium after the team's second official scrimmage at 10 a.m., of the preseason. The annual Media Day will be Aug. 24
th at 9:00 a.m.., with more details later.
The Bulldogs open their season on the road versus SWAC foe Florida A&M in a showdown at Bragg Memorial Stadium. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
