CARY, N.C. – The top-ranked South Carolina State men's tennis team will take on No.4 Howard in the semifinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament held at the Cary Tennis Park Friday (April.26). First serve is 12 noon and will televise live on ESPN+.
South Carolina State earned a bye in the first round (12-7) locked up the No. 1 seed after going a perfect 5-0 in league play.
All-MEAC First Team honorees
Novak Novakovic and
Mikalai Bankou lead the way for South Carolina State, along with
Aissa Benchakroun (All-MEAC Second Team).
Meanwhile, Howard men (6-10) rolled into the tourney as the No. 4 seed and topping rival No. 5 Morgan State in the MEAC First Round.
Senior
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) and All-MEAC selection newcomer
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) lead the charge with 15 combined singles wins. In doubles competition, the duo is 7-6 overall.
The men's and women's semifinal and championship matches will be live streamed on ESPN+ on both Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.
