BALTIMORE, MD—The South Carolina State women's basketball team suffered yet another setback in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play dropping a tough 33-65 setback to Coppin State Monday (March 3
rd) inside the Physical Education Complex.
South Carolina State falls to 2-26 overall, 1-12 in the MEAC, while Coppin State improves to 10-17 overall, 7-6 in the league.
Senior guard Cassandra Colon let the way with nine (9) points and five (5) rebounds, while
Mekayla Lumpkin added seven (7) points in the loss. Freshman center
Jhaven Meade along with
Heaven Harper each finished with seven (7) rebounds respectively.
The Eagles had two players finished in double figures with Angel Jones leading the way with 18 points along with Faith Blackstone with 16.
UP NEXT: South Carolina State will conclude the regular season Thursday (March. 7) on the road at NC Central. Tipoff for the women's contest is 5:30 pm, with the men following in a 7:30 p.m. game time.
