ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State softball team suffered yet another setback dropping a tough Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series to Morgan State over the weekend at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
Morgan State improves19-13 overall, 8-1 MEAC while, South Carolina State falls to 4-19 overall, 2-7 in the league.
The Lady Bears outscored the Lady Bulldogs 16-2 to capture a 3-0(1-5, 0-6, 1-5) win series.
In Game 1: Madison Boyd scored the only run for the Lady Bulldogs while recording six (6) hits as a team, one RBI and 26 at bats in the 1-5 loss.
In Game 2: SCSU didn't managed to score any runs and produced only four (4) hits in the 0-6 shutout loss in the second game of a doubleheader.
In Game 3: In the series finale SC State got off to a slow start with only one run and four hits falling short 1-5 versus MSU.
Next Up: South Carolina State will battle Presbyterian College in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 3
rd in Clinton, SC. First pitch is 3 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. start in the second game.
