Final Box vs. Wofford
ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis team defeated visiting Wofford, 5-2, Saturday (Feb. 24) at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs improve to 2-4 overall with the win, while Wofford falls to 3-5 on the season.
SCSU jumped out early claiming the doubles point with Benchakroun/Niv def. Young/Fullet (6-3, 6-3) at the No. 1 spot and Novakovic/Bankou def. Graham/Deveny (7-6, 6-3) at the No. 2 spot to earn the point.
In men's singles action,
Novak Novakovic (SCSUM) def. Max Graham (WOFFORDM) 6-1, 6-1 at the No.1 spot;
Mikalai Bankou (SCSUM) def. Ashe Ray (WOFFORDM) 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 at the No.2 spot;
Aissa Benchakroun (SCSUM) def. Will Fullett (WOFFORDM) 6-4, 7-5 at the No.3 spot and
Gabriel Johnson (SCSUM) def. Jack Deveny (WOFFORDM) 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 at the No.5 spot respectively.
