WASHINGTON, DC—South Carolina State is back in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) action on the road versus the Howard Bison in an pivotal league showdown in the nation's capital.

BULLDOG BITES:
- This will be the 10th meeting between Howard and SC State dating back to 2005. The Bulldogs hold a 7-2 lead with SCSU defeating HU 27-24 in their last outing -on 11/4/2023.
- Bulldogs ranked in nation are defense end Ashaad Hall is #2 in country in sacks with 10.0 (1.28 per game), while Jayden Broughton is ranked #4 with 8.5 (1.06).
- Eric Phoenix is ranked 11th in the nation in passing yards with 264.0 yards per game.
- HBCU+ FCS National Player of the Week: Eric Phoenix, South Carolina State, QB, Grad, 6-3, 210, Savannah, Georgia -Phoenix directed South Carolina State to a 24-21 win over No. 19 North Carolina Central and right into first place in the MEAC. He completed 26 of 36 pass attempts for 321 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, and had 13 carries for 60 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown. The Bulldogs (6-2) have won five straight games.
- Last week the Bulldogs a pair of Bulldogs earned MEAC Weekly Honors with Cam Johnson being named MEAC Offensive lineman of the Week and Kyle Gallegos named Specialist of the Week, respectively.
- Offensively, SCSU shades a little bit more on the pass, throwing for 2260 yards to 1328 on the ground and a total of 15 touchdowns on the season.
- The Bulldogs have had five different players throw a pass this season, but the primary signal-caller has been Eric Phoenix, who has thrown for 2103 yards in eight games, averaging 262.8 yards per game. He has completed 224 of his 144 passes with 16 touchdowns and seven (7) interceptions.
- Caden High has been his go-to receiver, hauling in 47 passes for 740 yards – an average of 92.50 per game – with five (5) touchdown connections. Justin Smith-Brown also has 523 yards on 35 catches, while Einaj Carter (385 yards on 26 catches.
- On the ground, Deondra Duehart has been a force, rushing for 437 yards and seven touchdowns on 110 carries, averaging 4.0 yards per carry and 54.63 yards per game. KZ Adams has 56 carries for 284-yards, but he also has a touchdown to his credit.
- Defensively, there's an even cluster of players on the tackle charts, led All-MEAC performer Aaron Smith with 55 tackles, 3.5 TFL, while Daythan Peterson with 34 tackles, including three for-loss for 21 yards. Diego Addison has 33 stops and four for-loss, while also six (6) pass breakups. Ashaad Hall has 33 tackles with 10 sacks for 52 yards, while Jadin Jones posted 30 tackles for 2.5 tackles for loss and Michael Brunson collecting the team's two interceptions.
