Men’s Basketball Capture A Pair Of Wins In Bulldogs Bash Tournament

THE HILL—The South Carolina State men's basketball team captured back-to-back wins in the Bulldogs Bash Basketball Tournament over the weekend held at the Event Center in Huntsville, AL host by Alabama A&M University.

Coach Martin and the Bulldogs captured their first MTE Tournament in the school history with the victories. 

On Friday the Bulldogs (3-3, 0-0) knocked off host Alabama A&M 82-70 in opening play of the tournament.  Graduate guard Omar Croskey led the way with a game-high 20 points, shooting 6-of-9 from 3-point range.

Forward Davion Everett added 12 points and five (5) rebounds, while Mitchell Taylor added nine (9) points and Drayton Jones eight (8) points and seven (7) rebounds.

In the final game SC State improved to 4-3 on the season in an 72-62 win over IU Indy.

Sophomore forward Drayton Jones posted a season high 23 points and seven (7) rebounds, while junior guard Colin McKenzie added 11 and Michael Teal 10.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State remains on the road in back-to-back non-conference games with Marshall (Nov.  27) and Xavier (Dec.1), before returning home versus Samford on Thursday, Dec. 5 inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center,
