ORANGEBURG, SC—Transfer
Angie Juste-Jean tossed in a team-high 13 points, while
Jada Morgan added 10 but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State dropped a tough, 60-52, decision at home Wednesday (Nov.13) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
South Carolina State falls to 1-2 on the season, while USC-Upstate improves to 1-2.
Despite the loss, the SCSU led in several categories including points in the paint (20-12), second chance points (14-5), fast break points (4-3), bench points (47-24) and rebounds (49-27).
Shaunice Reed added eight (8) points, while
Kimora Smith finished with seven (7) in the loss.
Jhaven Meade chipped in a game-high seven (7) rebounds and two (2) blocks.
NEXT UP: SC State will remain at home Friday (Nov. 15) when they host the visiting Gamecocks of Jacksonville State University in a 7 pm start.
