ORANGEBURG, SC.—South Carolina State coming off a much-needed bye week look to stay on track this Saturday (Oct. 19) when they host the visiting Wildcats of Fort Valley State in a non-conference matchup inside O.C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field.
RIVALRY RENEWED—Both teams are meeting for the first time in 60-years.
- FVSU vs. SC State – 18th Meeting After a 60-year hiatus, the Wildcats and Bulldogs will again meet on the Saturday gridiron. South Carolina State won the last meeting by a 26-8 final back in the 1964 fall season. FVSU lost the last four games before it played a scoreless tie, 0-0, in 1960. The Wildcats won both the 1957 (9-6) and 1950 (6-0) contests. Overall, South Carolina State holds a 14-2-1 lead in the first 17 meetings from 1941-64.
