ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play at home this weekend versus league foe Norfolk State, beginning at 4 p.m. inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tip-off is 4 p.m., immediately following the women's contest in a 2 p.m. start.
South Carolina State (4-12 overall, 0-0 MEAC) look to snap a two-game losing streak after dropping back-to-back contest to Nebraska (62-91) and Oklahoma State (70-86) in non-conference play.
Davion Everett is the leader for the Bulldogs averaging 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Guards
Mitchell Taylor and
Wilson Dubinsky is second tossing in little over 8.0 points per outing.
Meanwhile, Norfolk State (9-7 overall, 0-0 MEAC) enters the contest after coming off an 50-87 defeat to SEC opponent #5/#7 nationally ranked Tennessee on the road. The Spartans are led by Jamarii Thomas at 17.8 ppg and Allen Betrand with 11.2 points per contest.
