PRINCESS ANNE, MD—Three Bulldogs scored in double figures with junior guard
Michael Teal leading the way scoring a team-high 12 points as South Carolina State extended their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) winning streak to three in a row in an 63-53 win over host Maryland Eastern Shore Monday (Jan.29) inside Hytche Athletic Center.
South Carolina State improves to 7-14 overall, 3-2 in the MEAC, while UMES falls to 5-14 overall, 1-5 in the league.
Davion Everett and freshman guard Mitchell each added 10 points respectively in the win. Everett also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds recording a double-double on the night.
The Bulldogs dominated in several categories leading the way in bench points (30-13). on court points (30-29), fast break points (11-6), points off turnovers (11-6), points in the paint (28-18) and second chance points (14-7).
UP NEXT: South Carolina State returns home for a pair league contest versus Morgan State on Saturday (Feb.3) in a 4 p.m. start, followed by Coppin State on Monday (Feb.5) in a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
