ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State freshman tennis player Novak Novakovic captured the Serbian National Adult Championship held at the Spartak Tennis Club in Subotica, Serbia.
 
Novakovic, a native of Serbia and reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year defeated ATP ranked Kristian Juhas 7-5, 7-6 in the finals to win his first National Championship. 
 
"The experience l gained after winning the MEAC Championships and playing in the NCAA National Championships gave me so much confidence, "said Novak." I feel that this experience was instrumental in winning my country's National Championships. I can't wait to return to SCSU so we can build of last season and do even greater things!" 
 
One of the top newcomers in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), this past spring Novakovic help lead the Bulldog tennis team to a 5-0 perfect league mark and third straight conference championship.
