ORANGEBURG-SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team return to action Monday (Nov. 13
th) night at home versus North Florida in a non-conference matchup at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The Bulldogs (1-1) look to bounce back after a tough 52-96 road loss to South Florida in their last outing in Tampa, Fla. Freshman guard
Mitchel Taylor led the way with a team-high 11 points and three steals.
Jordan Simpson and
Davion Everett added six each in the loss.
Meanwhile, North Florida (2-0) is off to its best start in years after posting a 92-55 over Coastal Georgia and 81-70 win over Charles Southern. Chaz Lanier leads the way with 19.0 points per game.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State hit the road for a six game road swing versus Samford (Nov.17), Tulsa (Nov.20), Missouri (Nov. 22), Missouri State (Nov. 25), Furman (Nov.28) and Charleston Southern (Dec. 2) before returning home to host Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 9 at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center in an 2 p.m. start.
