Women's Basketball On The Road At Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – South Carolina State women's basketball team returns to action Saturday (Nov.19th) versus host Campbell. Tip-off from Gore Arena is set for 2:00 p.m. with Chris Lea and Jay Sonnhalter providing commentary on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Christabel Ezumah posted a career-high 20 points along with tying her career best with nine boards as UCF held on for a 62-60-win Tuesday night at Gore Arena
  • South Carolina State suffered an tough 93-25 setback against No.4  UNC in their last outing.
SERIES HISTORY (Campbell leads 2-1)
  • Campbell leads the all-time series with SC State, 2-1
  • Marks third straight season both teams have met on the hardwood. Campbell has won both matchups the past two seasons; 68-41 in 2020 and 67-46 in 2021
  • Last year's win over SC State marked head coach Ronny Fisher's 100th win at Campbell
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
  • South Carolina State is 0-4 to open the season
  • Preseason MEAC second-team selection Nicole Gwynn leads the Bulldogs averaging 9.5 points while sophomore guard Lovely Sonnier is averaging 6.5 points and 7.5 boards
  • Return nine players from last year's squad that went 4-25 overall and 4-10 in MEAC play
  • Led by first-year head coach Tim Eatman who previously served on Rutgers staff
  • Picked to finish 7th out of 8 teams in the preseason MEAC poll
