SC State Falls to Gardner-Webb

Orangeburg, SC – South Carolina State women's soccer team dropped a tough decision to Gardner-Webb 0-5 at O. C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jefferies Field, Sunday (Sept. 26th).

SC State (0-9) goalie Kierra Cox (Denver, CO) gained eight saves on the day off of 13 shots on goal defensively as Gardner-Webb (4-7; 1-1 Big South Conference) had two saves and five corner kicks.

Gardner-Webb scored two goals in the first half and three goals in the second half with the final goal scoring off of Robin Jackson in the 89th minute off of a pass from Makenna Stickler up the middle.

SC State will take on Virginia Military Institute in a home battle on Sunday, Oct. 3 with first kick at 1:00 p.m.
