Orangeburg, SC – South Carolina State women's soccer team dropped a tough decision to Gardner-Webb 0-5 at O. C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jefferies Field, Sunday (Sept. 26
th).
SC State (0-9) goalie
Kierra Cox (Denver, CO) gained eight saves on the day off of 13 shots on goal defensively as Gardner-Webb (4-7; 1-1 Big South Conference) had two saves and five corner kicks.
Gardner-Webb scored two goals in the first half and three goals in the second half with the final goal scoring off of Robin Jackson in the 89
th minute off of a pass from Makenna Stickler up the middle.
SC State will take on Virginia Military Institute in a home battle on Sunday, Oct. 3 with first kick at 1:00 p.m.
